  • I weeded bed three of four today…and went back over bed one of four. So. Much. Grass. It’s not enough to get the top shallow rooted grass. There are long, deep cords beneath. So I dug deep. The first earlies are also showing green! Read more

  • A little bit more work

  • Playing in the dirt

    This afternoon I weeded a raised bed we tried to grow broad beans. No dig requires more mulch than we have. So I dig. The soil was great, just full of grass. Nick tidied up the tree trimmings from the big apple prune. Read more

  • Chip drop

    This weekend the allotment got a chip drop. Our plot is at the bottom of the site. The chip drop was at the top. Saturday and Sunday saw me trekking up and the hill with our wheelbarrow to make the paths. I am now very, very sore. Read more

  • Windfall

    Yesterday I picked up windfall apples. I also found a lot of June drop. I brought home about half of what was there, maybe less. Today Rich dropped by with apples from his trees in the back garden. We will cider again soon! Read more
